you can make almost any dress (like the ones above) look modest by layering long sleeve tops and skirts (for short dresses) under them.

Perfect and Preppy (and uniform friendly)

  1.  My first blog post!:D I saw this photo and knew i had to write something about it. First off, i love that bright red trench- color is always a good thing and i like how the designer paired it with simple black accessories. When you have a bold color in your outfit, it's a good idea to keep the rest of the outfit more neutral- You don't want to over do it with color. The opposite is also true. Black can be super flattering, but you should always include some piece in your outfit with color. For example: When i wear this black dress i have, i usually pair it with some cool zig-zag tights, purple uggs, and a long necklace. Never be afraid of color. As long as you wear it right, you really can never go wrong with it. Anyways, back to the photo. I love the London-school girl vibe , it's  perfect for getting ideas for your own uniform. this is something that i definitely should be thinking about since I'm going to have to wear a uniform next year:( How will i survive?! just kidding:) Here are some tips to make your school uniform look somewhat decent and even stylish!:  accessorize! one thing i love to wear are  tights. And not those generic, boring ones. I'm talking about colored,patterned,studded,paint-splattered tights. They're cheap (which is a huge plus!) and can be found in almost any store. They're great for those boring, all black, no inspiration-jean skirts and sweatshirt days because they add interest and excitement to a would be boring outfit. Another accessory tip? Jewelry. Right now I'm loving vintage inspired pieces, sparkly bracelets, and those gorgeous michal negran necklaces. Jewelry makes any outfit (even uniforms) look more exciting and pretty. Jewelry is especially good for more simpler outfits- for example: a plain top with a necklace always looks way nicer then just a plain shirt. It also makes an outfit look less sloppy and more stylish. However, one time where i wouldn't go crazy with jewelry is when you're already wearing a bold/patterned outfit. Many times complicated jewelry will just take away from an outfit like this. My last tip for you uniformed girls? shoes. They're a great way to look fabulous and show off your own personal style. Right now i'm loving lace up boots and leapord print flats! What shoes are you loving this season?
